Vote Bridgend as Wales recycling champ!
August 16, 2011 No CommentsBridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) is going head to head with two ofWales’s largest authorities in a battle to be named the country’s council recycling champions.
BCBC needs its residents to use the online public vote to ensure our borough beats rivals Rhondda Cynon Taff Council and Newport City Council.
The three councils are finalists in Cylch’s Wales Recycling Awards in the Local Authority Partnership category.
BCBC made the shortlist after impressing judges with the fantastic recycling performance over the last year delivered in partnership with May Gurney – but is up against some big competition due to the size of RCT andNewport!
Councillor Phil White, BCBC’s Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “At the end of the day its residents that have made Bridgend such a recycling success story so a vote for BCBC is a vote for the amazing efforts of householders.
“Don’t forget that it’s thanks to our residents that we have gone from being the second worst recycling borough inWalesto one of the best. We’re the most improved inWalesand winning the Cylch award would be the icing on the cake.
