The new Trixter X-bike rides into town
May 31, 2011 No CommentsThe focus is on fitness as Bridgend Recreation Centre officially opens its new state of the art Trixter X-biking studio today. The new facilities make the Rec one of Bridgend County Borough’s premier leisure facilities.
X-bikes are a new and novel way of experiencing mountain biking indoors with the opportunity to be transported to anywhere in the world. You could be biking in New York one day and Mexico City or the Alps the next or return home to the familiar surrounds of the Welsh forests.
Centre Manager, Karl Paterson said: “Bridgend Recreation Centre prides itself in offering an array of leisure and sporting activities and is constantly striving to improve the customer experience of each visit whilst at the centre.
“This new facility is a great way of offering an exciting and inventive way for adults and children to participate in exercise and keeping fit.”
The new studio has already received an endorsement from professional British Triathlete and World Champion of 2008 Helen Jenkins, who is in training to qualify for the Olympic team and her husband Mark Jenkins who train together at various locations around Bridgend.
Commenting on the new studio, Mark Jenkins said: “It’s a great new addition to the centre. Both myself and Helen have tried out the equipment and believe it will give customers a new and exciting opportunity to enjoy a different type of exercise. We will certainly be using this facility in the future.”
All eight council-run leisure centres and swimming pools have a wide range of activities on offer, so why not contact your nearest centre today for more information. Full details of opening times can be found at www.bridgend.gov.uk/leisure
